What is the N701 modular sofa system?
The N701 is a modular sofa collection designed by Jacques Deneef for Ethnicraft. Each module — 1-seater, 2-seater, 3-seater, and corner pieces — connects with built-in clips to create endless configurations. The deep-seated, channel-tufted design is an invitation to sink in and relax.
What's the difference between a set and individual modules?
Sets (this page) are pre-configured layouts — choose your size, color, and corner type, and we deliver all the modules you need. Individual modules let you build a completely custom configuration piece by piece using our Module Configurator. Both options use the same high-quality N701 modules.
What fabric and leather options are available?
Fabric (3 colors): Beige, Blue, Dark Grey — 84% polyester, 16% acrylic. Durable, soft, and easy to maintain.
Eco Fabric (3 colors): Ecru, Graphite, Moss — 100% recycled cotton. Sustainable choice with a textured, natural character.
Leather (2 colors): Old Saddle, Chestnut — Semi-aniline leather that develops a beautiful patina over time.
What is the difference between round and square corners?
The 90° Square Corner creates a clean, architectural L-shape with a defined right angle. The 90° Round Corner is wider and creates a softer, curved transition between modules. The round corner is 47" wide vs 36" for the square corner, so it adds more seating space.
How do the modules connect?
Each N701 module includes built-in connector clips on the sides. Simply push the modules together and the clips lock them in place — no tools required. The connection is secure but allows you to rearrange or separate modules whenever you like.
What does Left vs Right orientation mean?
Orientation describes which side the longer section extends when you're facing the sofa. Left means the longer section extends to your left, Right means it extends to your right. Think about your room layout and which direction you want the sofa to extend.
How do I care for my N701 sofa?
Fabric & Eco: Vacuum regularly with an upholstery attachment. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Removable covers can be professionally dry cleaned.
Leather: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a leather-specific cleaner. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources. Leather will naturally develop a patina over time — this is normal and adds character.
What are the delivery times?
In-stock items typically ship within 1-2 weeks. If a specific color or configuration is not currently in stock, lead times are approximately 12-16 weeks from Ethnicraft's workshop in Belgium. Contact us for current availability on your specific configuration.
