Furniture

Solid wood furniture from Ethnicraft, Dovetail, and Mercana. Dining tables, sideboards, console tables, lounge chairs, beds, desks, and shelving in oak, teak, and walnut. Belgian-designed pieces with dovetail joinery and hand-applied finishes — no veneers or particle board.

Our Furniture Brands

Ethnicraft is the core of our furniture collection — Belgian-designed, built from solid European oak or reclaimed teak. Their pieces use traditional joinery (no screws visible on finished surfaces) and come with a range of finish options from natural to black-stained. Dovetail brings handcrafted furniture with a collected, vintage-inspired feel — reclaimed wood, hand-forged iron, and intentionally distressed finishes. Mercana offers a mix of metal and wood designs with a contemporary edge. Each brand builds furniture meant to last decades, not seasons.

Wood Types: Oak vs. Teak

Ethnicraft oak furniture has a warm, golden tone that lightens naturally over time with sunlight exposure. Oak is dense, durable, and takes stain well — available in natural, smoked, and black finishes. Ethnicraft teak furniture uses reclaimed plantation teak with a deeper brown tone and natural oil content that resists moisture, making it suitable for both indoor and covered outdoor use. Teak darkens slightly with age and develops a richer patina. Both woods are finished with a water-based varnish that protects without hiding the grain.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for solid wood furniture?

Dust weekly with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately — never let water pool on wood surfaces. Apply a thin coat of furniture wax or oil every 6-12 months. Keep solid wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources (radiators, heating vents) which cause warping and cracking. Use coasters under glasses and felt pads under decorative objects to prevent scratches and rings.

What is the difference between solid wood and veneer furniture?

Solid wood furniture is built from full planks of hardwood throughout — the material is the same on the surface, edges, and interior. Veneer furniture has a thin layer of real wood (or wood-look material) glued over particle board or MDF. Solid wood can be sanded and refinished multiple times over its lifetime. Veneer cannot. All Ethnicraft furniture in our collection is solid wood with no veneer surfaces.

How long does delivery take for furniture orders?

In-stock furniture ships within 1-3 business days and arrives in 5-10 business days depending on your location and the size of the piece. Ethnicraft items ship from their US warehouse in New Jersey. Oversized items (dining tables, sideboards, beds) ship via freight carrier and require a delivery appointment. Items marked as backorder have lead times listed on the product page — typically 8-16 weeks for Ethnicraft special orders.

Do I need to assemble the furniture myself?

Most Ethnicraft furniture ships fully assembled or requires minimal assembly (attaching legs to a table, for example). Beds require frame assembly. Each product page notes assembly requirements. Dovetail and Mercana pieces vary — some ship fully assembled, others require light assembly with included hardware and instructions. No specialized tools are needed beyond what is included.
